Ontario
Applicants for a G1 licence take a vision test. Ontario describes a standard of at least 20/50 visual acuity and a horizontal visual field of at least 120 continuous degrees for the applicable class.

ICBC requires a vision screening to obtain a learner’s licence. Follow ICBC guidance for your specific circumstances; this page does not assert that Ontario’s numerical standard applies in BC.

At 100% browser zoom, match the blue card’s width to a bank card and measure your viewing distance. In the Ontario view, letters approximate the angular size of a 20/50 chart line. In the BC view, it is an ungraded 20/40-size demonstration only.
